Terms of Service
Last updated: March 15, 2026
Agreement
By creating an account or using Cloup, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. Cloup is operated by Lakehead & Woodland LLC ("we", "us", "our").
What Cloup provides
Cloup is a link collection and sharing service. You save URLs into collections, and we generate visual preview cards by fetching publicly available metadata from those URLs. Your collections can be kept private, shared via a unique link, or listed on your public profile.
Your account
- You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- One account per person. Automated account creation is not permitted.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Cloup.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Cloup to:
- Share links to illegal content or content that violates the rights of others.
- Distribute malware, phishing pages, or deceptive URLs.
- Spam, scrape, or abuse the service through automated means.
- Circumvent rate limits, security measures, or usage restrictions.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
- Use ad-blocking tools in a manner that interferes with the operation of the service.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, at our sole discretion.
Your content
You retain ownership of the URLs and collection metadata you submit. By making a collection public or unlisted, you grant Cloup a license to display that content to visitors. You can revoke this at any time by changing the collection's visibility to private or deleting it.
Paid plans and billing
Cloup may offer paid subscription plans with additional features or higher usage limits. All payment processing is handled by Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
- We do not store your payment card details. All payment information is collected and processed directly by Stripe.
- Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your plan).
- You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us if you believe you are entitled to a refund.
Advertising
Cloup may display advertisements provided by third-party ad networks, including Google Ads. These ads may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve personalized content based on your browsing activity. By using Cloup, you acknowledge and consent to the display of such advertisements. See our Privacy Policy for details on how to opt out of personalized advertising.
Service availability
Cloup is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We strive to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify or discontinue features at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lakehead & Woodland LLC and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits.
Account termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy. If you have an active paid subscription, cancellation and refund terms apply as described above.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the service. Continued use of Cloup after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
